HOW IS UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM STUDIES (UPES)DEHRADUN ??Is it good for upcoming future placements as we can see a spur in demand 4 oil n ghas n infrastructure sectors what is its rank how is it overall

UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM STUDIES (UPES)DEHRADUN has started its Placement 2008 on October 16, 2007 with 657 students to be placed from 19 courses.so i think it had got a good future for other students too. It ranks 6th in job market.

i do agree with you. Since 2005, when the first batch of UPES went in for placements, more than 2000 UPES grads were placed with reputed organizations. Over 200 national and international companies have recruited UPES graduates. A large number of major recruiters are repeat recruiters. In 2010, the economy is still in a recovery mode, but UPES has already placed 30% of its students. This is a much better record as compared to a number of other universities. You can find more data on their community in facebook.

hey who has written this all thing above , off-course college people may be UPES is such a waste college...there are no placements here just they will do your placement in small companies of whom you might not have heard about??? with a handsome salary of 5000-10000 rs. after wasting your money of about 7-10 lakhs here... iwould recommend you NOT TO JOIN HERE. i m too the student of UPES and here M.Tech and MBA have no placement but B.tech placements are nice

You may be true on your part but what i have seen among UPES Students comments on facebook community of UPES is the information regarding placement stats and companies that come for recruitment shared by the UPES admin as well as students, and they were quite satisfactory even for MBA and M.Tech courses. I would advice you to join their community and put your query regarding placement or any issue that you want to discuss with the administration itself.

UPES is a good institute, and holds a good reputation for MBA in core sectors. The placements are also going well.

UPES has got decent placements. All UPES B Tech programs are duly approved by UGC and accredited by NAAC. A statuary University, UPES is established through an Act (UPES Act, 2003) of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand under section 2(f) and all the programs offered by University are in compliance with the aforesaid statutory authorities. The issue that has happened with the geoscience students is not the institute's fault. Each company has their own policies and preferences for recruitment. This issue is being sorted.
