If two genes are quite apart, crossing over will most probably occur resulting in nearly 50% recombination. Why 50% is the maximum??? why can't it be greater?

if complete recombination occurs then half of the progenies are obtained as recombinant whilethe other half retain parental characters. If recombination frequency of more than 50% means parental characters are lost which is not possible unless there are mutations. take in case of tallness of pea plants, u can easily see that in F2 there are 50% recombinants only.

bcoz there should some progenies which attain parental characters it is not possible all progenies will be new untill some drastic changes occurs during DNA replication.which leads to speciation but mostly if changes are drastic then survival chances also decreases so variations are always slow (recombination is a methods that contributes to variation
