The regulatr gene produces a represor protein wich in d absence of lactose binds to d operator gene nd does nt alwo the proces of transcriptn hapen . . . In d presence of lactose it binds to it to form repressor inducer complex nd alow d functional genes to take part in d proces effectively resultin in d synthesis of a functnal mrna
