A smooth wedge A is fitted in a chamber hanging from a fixed celling near the earth's surface. A block B placed at top of the wedge takes time T to slide down the length of wedge. it will remain at the top because as the string breaks both the block & the wedge begins to fall with acceleration g & since both were initialy at rest & their relative acceleration is 0 therefore they will remain in same position with respect to each other & because the block was initially at the top of the wedge hence it will remain their in complete fall
