Two particles A and B each of mass m are attached by a light inextensible string of length 2L.The whole system lies on a smooth horizontal table with B initially at a distance L from A. The particle at end B is projected across the table with speed u perpendicular to AB.Velocity of A after jerk?

wen the string tightens the component of velocity of B along the length of the string wil b (v(3)^0.5)/2...now impulse acts...impulse is change in momentum... impulse on A is negative of impulse on B...ie...-mv=mv-(3^0.5)mu/2 where v is final velocity and u is initial velocity
