in case of pure rolling, the point of contact of the rolling body with the surface,is at rest if the surface(consider it as inclined plane) is at rest with respect to ground.so there is neither tendancy nor relative motion of the point of contact.then what leads to arise of friction.

wR tries to increase and so friction tries to oppose this motion  that's why it acts forward

Consider there is no friction....................Then the force mgsin(theta) would disturb the pure rolling motion by accelerating only the translational motion and leaving the rotational motion same.............In such a case, V would exceed rw at all instants...............

Thus friction acts to sustain pure rolling by decreasing the acceleration of the translational motion and at the same time, helping the rotational motion to accelerate................
