During the reunion of the pioneer batch of IIT-K, the ex IItians interacted with the students presently studying at the institute and shared with them their life journey. Each alumnus had something or other to narrate. Most of them were found sharing their life journey, experiences gained, family related issues and others.

Dilip Banerjee of the pioneer batch touched upon hard days of his life when he was admitted in the IIT-K. He told his juniors that during his stay at the campus, he often used to engage in petty jobs that fetched him some extra money. Students were deeply moved with the real life story and was inspired with it. Similarly, other batch mates of the first batch revealed the mantra for their success once they passed out from the institute. Many others attributed their success to the founder director of the institute, Dr Kelkar and the faculty members who lend a helping hand.

"Dr Kelkar was shared a friendly relation with the students and was always ready to help the students in the best possible way. He arranged books and other studying material for those students who could not manage. In return, they made him proud with their best brains, both in India and abroad," said one of the batch mates of the pioneer batch.

The interaction that lasted for hours proved to a good learning session for the students. "Small group of present IIT students and few ex-IITians spent sometime together and was worth remembering," said Abhay Bhushan, president of the IIT-K alumni association. A question asked by one of the boys as to why there were no girls in the first batch made us laugh, that was worth enjoying, added Bhushan.
