The Human Resource Development Ministry Thursday started a newsletter of the department of higher education, in a bid to inform people of its activities and provide people a channel for feedback.

The newsletter was released by Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal.

"It would provide an opportunity to keep the citizens - stake holders informed of the activities of the department and also provide a forum to articulate views and comments on how the ministry could further design public policies of higher education and improve programme delivery," an official statement from the ministry said.

According to ministry officials, the bilingual newsletter will come as a quarterly publication and it will be essentially online with 'limited print copies for circulation'.

"The inaugural issue of the newsletter has sections on campus notes, exchange of ideas, discussions, etc. All surfers, teachers, students, academics, administrators, management of institutions and others holding leadership positions, alumni and all those who wish Indian higher education system to improve are invited to contribute," the officials said.
