state function considers the current state of the system not on the path or the way in which it reached this state...for example internal energy, entropy etc..

It is a thermodynamic parameter or quantity whose value depends only on the state of the system and it is independent on the path by which the state is reached. Ex. pressure, volume, Temperature, E, H, S, G etc.,
