is hyaline cartilage and articular cartilage the same thing?

no..articular cartilages (as the name says) are the cartilage covering the articulating surfaces of the bone.. but mostly, these are hyaline cartilage (i dont know any exceptions)

Actually articular cartilage is the cartilage present in the joints which are the articular surfaces(joining surface) and these are the hyaline cartilage.hence both r same.
