Anopheles when sitting on the skin of host, its abdomen is held at an angle to the surface.Female lays 40 to 200 eggs in clean water, singly. Each egg has lateral air floats.Wrigglers are parallel to the water surface.8th abdominal segment has the raised chitinous plate that bears the spiracles for breathing the air.Culex in its sitting is parallel to the skin of the host.Female lays 200 to400 eggs in dirty water. They are laid in clusters.Wriggler is at an angle to the surface of water, keeping the head downwards.8th abdominal segment bears siphons that end with spiracles for breathing the air. These are the differences that i know.
