angle b/w da mirrors = Ө = 60°

so here 360 / Ө = 6……. (wch is even)

now if 360 / Ө is even , den da number of images is given by

n = (360/Ө) - 1

= 6 – 1

= 5

So 5 images r formd ........

wel morrison & boyd is always gud...............BUT.........i wont suggest u 2 refer morrison ............coz it has a gr8 detailed explanation.............agreed, but dat detail is not required 4 jee........

coz ur aimz 2 get into iit,not 2 pursue doctorate degree in organic........n der r many other topics......phy,maths,inorganic etc 2 do..........

morrisonz way gud but vil eat ur lot of tym........

rather prefer arihant organic chem.......itz detailed but 2 da point........

Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Organic Chemistry -> what is the difference between resonance effect and mesomeric effect?? -> Go to message
This Post 5 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 1 votes )   [?]

though both resonance & mesomerism represent da same phenomenon,
dey differ lyk dis ------->

resonance involves all types of electron displacements while.........

mesomerism z noticable only in those cases wer a multiple bond is in conjugation with a multiple bond or lone pair of electron

Example :

Both (i) and (ii) are the examples of mesomerism and resonance effect. Let us consider the following example . Such an electron displacement is the example of resonance only (not the mesomerism )

This Post 10 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 2 votes )   [?]

Actually........da increasing nuclear charge is partly counterbalanced by the increasing number of electrons, datz wut z  shielding.......it  explains why the size of atoms usually increases down each column.

However, there some xceptions where shielding is less effective: in these cases, the atoms are smaller than would otherwise be expected

dis z 1 of da xception as wel !

Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Inorganic Chemistry -> what is the trend of atomic radius in group 13 and why? -> Go to message
This Post 15 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 3 votes )   [?]

ya datz correct i suppose

Al = 143   &    Ga = 135

the effective nuclear charge in Ga iz more than in Al and its atomic radius, therefore,itz little less

or in other wurds da shieldin is poor in Ga dan Al

This Post 10 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 2 votes )   [?]

The Tishchenko Reaction is a disproportionation reaction that allows the preparation of esters from two equivalents of an aldehyde.

The aluminium alkoxide (used) acts as a Lewis acid to coordinate with one molecule of the aldehyde, and to facilitate the addition of a second equivalent of aldehyde, generating a hemiacetal intermediate:

This species undergoes an intramolecular 1,3-hydride shift that results in the production of the aluminium-coordinated ester.

Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Integral Calculus -> how to integrate (4tan^2(x)sec(x)) ? -> Go to message
This Post 7 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 2 votes )   [?]

I = ∫ {4 tan^2 (x) . sec x } dx

= 4 ∫ tanx ( sec x  tan x) dx

 now substitute sec x = t……==>  tanx = √ ( t^2 – 1)

& (secx tanx) dx = dt

 So we get,

 I= 4 ∫ √ (t^2 – 1) dt

=  4 { (t/2) √(t^2 – 1)   -   (1/2) log │t + √(t^2 – 1) │   +  c  }

Resubstituting da value -------->  t = secx

Ans  =  4 { (secx/2) √ (sec^2 x  - 1)   -   (1/2) log │secx + √(sec^2 x   - 1) │   +   c }

 Displacement is nothing but da length of arc AB of da sector in da abv diagram

 i.e.,

 { (Ө /  360 )  *  2 π R } ........... ( formula)

 Wer Ө is da angle u mentiond in ur question OR in other words da angle of da sector in above diagram wch is already wel denoted....

Catalogs Discussion Forums -> Electricity -> what is magnetic flux and what is it's unit? -> Go to message
This Post 5 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 1 votes )   [?]

Magnetic flux is the product of the average magnetic field times the perpendicular area that it penetrates. It is a quantity of convenience in the statement of Faraday's Law

The contribution to magnetic flux for a given area is equal to the area times the component of magnetic field perpendicular to the area

The SI unit of magnetic flux is the Weber (in derived units: volt-seconds),

(the unit of magnetic field is the weber per square meter, or tesla.)

ORIGINAL VERSION--------->

(LAW  1)------->    Every body continues in its state of rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compelled 2 change dat state by forces inpressed upon it

(LAW  2) ------->  the change of motion is proportional 2 da magnitude of force impressed & is made in da direction of da straight line in wch dat force is impressed.

(LAW  3)-------->  to every action der is always an equal & opposite rxn ; or , da mutual actions of 2 bodies upon each other r always directed to contrary parts

MODERN VERSION---------------------->

(1)  A body continues in its initial state of rest r motion wid uniform velocity unless acted upon by an unbalanced xternal force

(2) da acceleratn of a body z inversely proportional of its mass & directly proportional 2 da resultant xternal force acting on it.

(3) forces always occur in pairs.If body "A" xerts a force on body "B" , an equal but opposite force z xerted by body "B" on body "A"

This Post 12 points    (Olaaa!! Perrrfect answer.   in 3 votes )   [?]

ya datz correct ..........

Schiff's test is used for detection of aldehydes ......ketones don't giv dis test

An unknown sample is added to the decolorized Schiff reagent and when aldehyde is present a characteristic magenta or purple color develops

schiif reagent is dilute solutn of p-rosaniline hydrochloride decolourised with SO2 or H2SO4
