Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi conducts All-India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination every year. This is a national level entrance exam which is conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India specified in the directive of the court and is governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

AIPMT is one of the most reckoned entrance examinations of the country through which deserving candidates seek admission in the best medical colleges of India. The colleges under this examination also include medical schools run by Union of India, state government, municipal and other local authorities in India except the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
