JIPMER Medical Exam: Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), one of the leading medical institutes of India, spreading over 195 acres in an urban locale of Pondicherry (formerly Known as Pondicherry). The institute was founded in 1823 by French Government, Taken over by Government of India in 1956 and upgraded to Post Graduate Institution in 1964. It is affiliated at Pondicherry University; it's courses are recognized by Medical Council of India. It is administered Directorate General of Health Services and funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Government of India. Admission to M.B.B.S. Course is through an Entrance Examination conducted by JIPMER at 6 centers once a year. In addition certain categories of students are admitted through Government nominations and through the All India Pre – Medical Examination conducted through CBSE. JIPMER aims to provide high quality of learning environment for those taught and research degrees awarded by Pondicherry University in the faculty of Medicine. Teaching and training for M.B.B.S. Degree at JIPMER is focused on health improvement, disease prevention and cure as well as fundamental understanding. All medical graduates must meet the core outcomes set by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Duration of MBBS Course in JIPMER:
Duration of the JIPMER MBBS course is 4 years and 6 months as per the Academic Calendar of JIPMER followed by 1 year of Compulsory Rotatory Internship. Objectives of JIPMER:
- To integrate basic and clinical sciences with interactive clinical mentoring and community based training.
- To facilitate students knowledge with “Hands on training”.
- To assess competency based training after specified period.
- To meet the core outcomes of the Medical Council of India for Graduate Medical Education.
JIPMER Merit List:
A JIPMER merit list will be drawn on the basis of the total marks of 200 obtained in the Entrance Examination by the candidates. The JIPMER MBBS Merit List will consist of all candidates who are eligible for admission. Candidates who secure less than the marks as indicated above in the Entrance Examination will not be considered for admission and their names will not be included in the Merit List. There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluation of answer sheets or publication of correct answers as per JIPMER regulations. No query will be entertained in this regard.
