- JIPMER admits 75 (seventy five only) students to each batch of MBBS course, yearly once. They are available to eligible students as per the reservations under various categories, detailed below

- JIPMER conducts entrance examination on all India basis and only merit in the Entrance Examination is the criterion for selection to 46 seats (including 20 reserved for locals). Eleven seats are filled on merit from all India Test conducted by CBSE.
- JIPMER Entrance Examination is usually conducted on the second Sunday of June every year. The notification of entrance examination is published in all leading news papers and on the website in January/February every year.
- JIPMER does not prescribe any syllabus for our Entrance Examination. However, it is based on CBSE syllabus for 11th and 12th standard students.
